I had the exhilarating experience of attending Paris Photo 2025, held in the magnificent Grand Palais. This fair is an extraordinary gathering of galleries and book publishers, showcasing an incredible array of talent. Among the throngs, I found world-renowned photographers, some of whom were graciously signing books—a siren call for any avid collector. The chance to indulge in hundreds of iconic photographs was a true feast for the eyes. As someone who adores the tactile experience of physical prints, being there felt like a dream come true. Even a couple of days barely scratches the surface, yet it’s the perfect venue to reconnect with familiar faces from the photography world. And then, there’s Paris itself—a breathtaking city, a true treasure for photographers. My creative appetite has been ignited, and I’m already planning my next visit. Of course, Paris can be a bit of a financial stretch; hotels and exquisite dining can leave your jaw on the floor, and the entry fee for the fair isn’t exactly pocket change either. Thankfully, the Metro offers an affordable and efficient way to navigate the city. I chose not to attend a workshop during my visit, so the photos you see below are a personal curation of my own experiences. I have to admit some of my courses with Phil Penman have started to influence how I look at and frame my photographs. Maybe you can see the influences below.
