I had the incredible opportunity to attend a workshop led by none other than Magnum photographer Mark Power at the prestigious Hamburg Werkstatt Fotografie. Mark dedicated an immense amount of time to meticulously reviewing and sequencing our work throughout the course. His set of lectures was nothing short of enlightening, revealing the painstaking attention to detail that goes into the sequencing of images. At that moment, he was putting the finishing touches on his latest book, “Fashion,” and graciously shared invaluable insights into its planning. I was fortunate enough to receive a signed copy at Paris Photo 2025, and it was absolutely thrilling to recognize so many elements of the book while understanding the thought process behind the final selection. As the course concluded, all participants proudly showcased our portfolios in a public gallery exhibition. Mark is genuinely a maestro of sequencing, sharing inspiring reflections about his photographic journey. If you seek a workshop that is both engaging and thought-provoking, I wholeheartedly recommend attending one of his sessions, especially if you desire honest critique for your book or website.
